How to Haole Koa Flower Buds

INTRODUCTION

Watch THIS VIDEO for a visual tutorial on harvesting and water soaking haole koa flower buds.

STEP 1

Harvest unopened flower buds. There should be no small white flowers opening, or that look like they will open.

STEP 2

Rinse them.

STEP 3

Put into a bowl or container of some kind with water.

STEP 4

Cover with a clean kitchen towel and set aside for 12 hours.

STEP 5

Strain out water and rinse after 12 hours. Refill bowl with water and cover again with clean kitchen towel.

STEP 6

Strain out water and rinse after 12 hours. Refill bowl with water and cover again with clean kitchen towel.

STEP 7

Strain out water and rinse after 12 hours. Refill bowl with water and cover again with clean kitchen towel.

STEP 8

Strain out water and rinse thoroughly. Time to eat, or you can store them in the refrigerator.
