DAY 6 Wildbiome Project Hawaii
Day 6 @wildbiomeproject had me delighting in this simple dish of invasive Tahitian prawns we caught in the river with Chinese violet greens and flowers in coconut milk, plus salt.

Lunch/Dinner was weke (Mulloides flavolineatus) my son caught with sautéed coconut heart, wood sorrel seed pods & leaves (Oxalis corniculata). I also had a couple cups of kiawe bean tea.

And, it was my son’s 11th birthday today! He’s been sharing all my Wildbiome Project dinners, but you can be sure he wasn’t about to give up on birthday treats. Wasn’t too easy to make an ice cream cake without eating any, but it’s also such an exercise in self control and good to know I still got it!
Fishing, prawning in the streams, and making good food from the`āina is what we’ve always done. Am so proud of this amazing human, and so grateful he’s joining me on the journey and providing protein.
