DAY 29 WILDBIOME PROJECT HAWAII
DAY 29 @wildbiomeproject

Red spiderling roots (Boerhavia diffusa) are so delicious – great texture and as a rasayana (longevity) herb used in over 30 Ayurvedic formulas quite potent indeed. Invasive, and a very common plant I see in our leeward coastal drylands as well as Central Valley. The bull thistle roots have good flavor, but are fibrous, just like the spiny amaranth roots. Served up with red spiderling cooked greens and venison that I made a rub of wild allspice/wild coffee grounds/Peruvian pepper/christmas berry/salt and cooked in coconut oil.

Chinese violet greens in coconut milk + salt for a dinner soup. also had some hill raspberry + banana poka lilikoi + small kine honey fruit leather and some wild basil + Spanish needles tea. Oh ya, and wild coffee with a splash of coconut milk this morning.
Was feeling so so good today, the red spiderling revs me up and the venison was delicious, but unfortunately my body just has not adjusted to the coconut and I’ve pretty much confirmed that I’ve got an intolerance to it, which is rare and lame, but beyond a doubt a month into this.
