DAY 11 Wildbiome Project Hawaii
DAY 11 @wildbiomeproject :
Camping trip with my son and his bestie had them reeling in lots of fish that we cooked over the campfire.

We ate moana (Paruoeneus multifasciatus), aha (Strongylura gigantea ), taape, and toao (Lutjanus fulvus) fish over the campfire, and cooked wild amaranth greens in coconut milk over the fire with a second round of fish bits. Sipped on banana poka lilikoi and guava juice.
I started out the day with a hill raspberry and coconut milk smoothie. Then, a big brunch before heading out on the camping trip of baked taape, wild fennel fronds, opiuma arils, coconut oil and salt, topped with pōpolo berries and gorse flowers.

Cover image is some of the wild basil, which originates from Africa but is now spread all over our south sides of the island. A deep spicy flavor that is absolutely delicious, I harvested not only leaves but also seeds to use as well.
