Strawberry Guava Bread

INTRODUCTION

This delicious bread can be enjoyed as breakfast and as dessert. Be sure to go to the effort of removing the seeds from the Strawberry Guava fruits – otherwise, you’re risking your teeth!

INGREDIENTS

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon coconut extract

1 1/2 cup finely chopped strawberry guava, seeds removed

STEP 1

Preheat the oven to 350° F.

STEP 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Set aside.

STEP 3

In a large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until fluffy.

STEP 4

Add eggs, one at a time, mixing each one well.

STEP 5

Gradually add in the flour mixture, until completely combined.

STEP 6

Fold in the chopped seedless Strawberry Guava.

STEP 7

Pour mixture into a greased loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

STEP 8

Cool in the pan for 15 minutes. Then, invert onto a wire rack and cool completely.  (This is a very important step, it prevents cracking of the loaf.)

STEP 9

Once completely cool, slice and enjoy!  Store in the refrigerator.
