Harvesting and Processing Aloe Vera – Eat Local Maui Challenge

Day 7 of eating 100% locally grown and raised foods from the Hawaiian Islands. This video highlights harvesting aloe vera and processing it up to eat.

snack :: leftover stuffed poblano peppers treat ::kiawe bars made with kiawe (Prosopis pallida)*** flour, macadamia nut butter, honey, cocoa nibs, kiawe-smoked salt.

drink :: elderflower champagne (Sambucus mexicana)***, honey, lemon*.

drink :: java plum (Syzygium cumini)***, elderberry (Sambucus mexicana)***, aloe vera*, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, coffee cherry fruit extract, honey, lemon*.

drink :: job’s tear leaves (Coix lachryma)***, lemongrass*, aloe vera*, honey, lemon*.

dinner :: cassava gnocchi from BROTH restaurant at Alive & Well.
